Dancer and Choreographer Varsha Naik lead a dance fitness event to support Breast Cancer Research program

Women these days, have a lot on their mind, be it their career, marriage or kids. But between all this, take a break and think when was the last time you visited a doctor to get your breasts examined for lumps? In Support of Breast cancer awareness and research, choreographer and entrepreneur, Varsha Naik of Navrang Dance Academy (New Jersey) and Menlo Park Lions club along with instructor ZIN Sumathy Iyer and Shivani Verma raised their voice in support of Breast cancer research and awareness.

They organized a Zumba fitness charity event with a 90 minute nonstop Zumbathon, supported by Suhag Jewelers, NJ. The event was attended by hundreds women from all walks of life.  The crowd had a lot of fun as various Latin American songs and Bollywood themed fitness music was played. Music has no language and when we use music for health and fitness it helps with physical and mental health believed Ms.Naik. “We need to support each other and come together to fight breast cancer. Dance can be a wonderful medium that can bring awareness and positivity. We are trying our best to raise funds for this cause”, she said.

The proceeds from this event will be donated to RWJ Breast Cancer research program. The event got a generous support from local businesses like Mr. Surendra Kumar of Suhag Jewelers, Akbar Restaurant and many more. Mrs. Anu kumari from Suhag Jewelers Sponsored pink T-shirt to all the participants as a token of support for this cause.

Zin Lion Varsha Naik always believes in giving back to the society and this event was a perfect way to celebrate womanhood and donate to a worthy cause, she said. We believe that all women should consciously make an effort to take care of their health as strong and healthy women make a healthy society!! Navrang Dance Academy in Association with Menlo Park Lions club have always done such social cause events and plan to offer more opportunities to the community to participate and make a difference. Volunteers from Menlo Park Lions club also attended and supported this event.
